[Quick Guide] How to win the damage meter

I thought It would be nice to share...
What key bindings do you use?
2010-03-01
From my days of Quake III Arena I've gotten used to bunching up all necessary skills around AWSD. The problem with WoW PvP in comparison is that it is usually filled with quite a few more skills that's necessary depending on the opponent. I've got five number keys in use:
1: Autoshot (I know, but it is useful at times to just toss an autoshot)
2: Raptor Strike/Wing Clip macro
3: Arcane Shot
4: Concussive Shot
5: Multishot
Then I have quite a few letter keys in use:
Q: Hunter's Mark (I don't have time to look for it when I have to remark a Rogue that's blown CloS, or a Druid in cat)
E: Steady Shot/Aimed shot modifier macro. (There are times when the opponent is stupid enough to let you stand still)
R: Frost/Freeze trap modifier macro.
F: Mana Drain/...

can you just use the target dummies? I haven't tried it yet, but I assumed you could level your weapons on Hunter
Zelok-71 Lock
Zedead-70 DK
Zebug-61 Rogue
Zepally-48 Pally
I haven't heard of any, but then I haven't been playing much lately so maybe someone else knows.
You could try running regular instances with low-levels and cheap ammo--they'll be grateful, you won't spend too much and you'll still be doing tons of damage, and you can level a new pet at th...

Skinning and mining or skinning and herbalism would be better for leveling.
Two Gathering skills ensures a solid stream of gold coming your way.

And if you have Skinning+Mining it's easy to switch to say LW+JC when you reach level 80 (assuming you don't sell too many gems, rare ores and the annoying leather (a.k.a. rugged))
Or Skinning and herbalism and you can switch to LW+Alchemy.

Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics
2009-11-07
Okay, confession time. Besides gaming, everyone's got their special interest that helps them define themselves as geeks. More than one guy in the GameSpy office has fond memories of rolling twenty-sided dice and casting Magic Missiles. Some have stories so vivid that one can almost smell the faint aroma of Cheetos dust and the mustiness of a basement. Others talk about how their D&D days have colored their experiences in gaming up to their love for WoW. I am not one of those people. I've never played D&D. I didn't know what a Paladin was until WoW ate up the free time of several of my clubbing buddies, which detracted from my geek activity. So, with that having been said, I am probably the most unlikely candidate to talk about Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics, but the only person at Atari's Las Vegas press event who could cover it. And still, like Roger Ebert attempting to review a videogame movie, while I can't relate to the game itself, I can appreciate the amount of work that British developer Kuju has pumped into making this game the most faithful rendition of a D&D tabletop game that anyone wi...

Keeping in Touch as Interns Head Out

This fall, Siemens (SI ) launched a secure social network open only to alumni of the Siemens Scholar program, which hosts college and graduate students who work on projects with the company.

The Siemens Scholar Network (alumni.siemens-foundation.org) solicited 2,500 alums to join in September. In the first two days, 277 signed up to build Facebook-style profiles.

The goal: to retain relationships with Generation Y talent after they graduate or move on to other corporations. Beyond posting bios and blog entries, members can peruse postings about Siemens job and internship opportunities.

Reporting From the Show Floor - Saturday

PAX 2008 Show Floor Report - Saturday
10:35 - Get to the convention center. At first glance, seems to be less crowded than yesterday. Ended up being very wrong. Also ended up riding the escalator immediately in front of Felicia Day of The Guild and Dr. Horrible, got a chance to spend some time talking with her. Apparently, she's a fan of The Escapist. Very cool, and so is she.
10:40 - First glance was wrong. Very, very, wrong. The exhibitor floor is packed, way more than yesterday. The moment I cross the threshold I feel the ambient temperature rise at least ten degrees. Games that had ten-person lines yesterday have teeming throngs all around them now.
11:00 - Have an appointment with Meteor Games to check out Twin Skies. Much of the Meteor team actually worked on Neopets back in the day, and Twin Skies reflects this - it's a bizarre fusion between a casual MMOG and a series of browser-based Flash games that almost needs to be seen to really be understood. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but what they showed me definitely wasn't it. More detail to come, because Twin Skies is one of the most interesting games I've seen at the show so far.
11:40 - Yesterday, a little bird happened to tip me off that at n...

The forums have changed yet again. Toying with new software.
I've picked up quiet a few items since the last time I've posted: The Pauldons of Stone Resolve from the timed chest event in Zul'Aman, the tanking boots from the first boss in ZA, the badge reward tanking coal, the badge reward tanking belt (not the spell one), tons of ZA crit gear, and the healing mace from...
Weekend Reading: Gaming as a Job
2009-08-14
A recent piece of news described how someone posted an ad on Craiglist, since then taken down, advertising a position of ˇ°guild director,ˇ± with full responsibilities in running a Player versus Player organization in World of Warcraft, complete with initial salary and a bonus-based structure tied to the performance of the guild.Since the release of the first MMOs, we have known of those we refer to as ˇ°gold farmers,ˇ± those players who focus on milking a game for resources that they sell for real money to other players. It seems that videogaming can generate quite a few jobs, apart from those created by developer studios and publishing entities. And there are more jobs to be found related to gaming directly, in videogame competitive leagues, television shows and magazines dedicated to gaming and others. But the first two examples are differe...

uhh, get a 2h....
Youan mh more easilyrank your holy damage than youan you white damage. Get a weapon with more spell damage on it if you want to output more damage. Also, remember that yoururrent weapon has a 1.8 weapon speed, so the white damage you'll see is small. BUT - It hits more often. If all you want to see is large white damage that makes you feel better, then get a slower weapon :)
